Help Us Move It! for the UNM Movement Disorder Center - PMD Alliance

The University of New Mexico’s new Comprehensive Movement Disorder Center (CMDC) at the University of New Mexico hospital, scheduled to open in 2020 will deliver high-quality, patient-centered care to support the over 25,000 New Mexicans impacted by Parkinson disease and other movement disorders.

The Parkinson & Movement Disorder Alliance (PMD Alliance) is happy to announce the “Move It! Fund” fundraiser. Research has shown that education and exercise are the best ways to promote health and wellbeing among those living with a movement disorder. Your support of the fund – with a gift of any size – will purchase exercise equipment for persons accessing services at the CMDC. Our goal is to raise $20,000 by the time the center opens in winter of 2020.

The PMD Alliance merger with the New Mexico Parkinson’s Disease Coalition has brought more in person educational events and workshops than any other Parkinson’s and movement disorder nonprofit.

Join us to make it possible for New Mexicans with PD and other movement disorders to more effectively access the programs and equipment the Center needs for patients it serves.

Don’t miss the Ground Breaking Ceremony for the center on Tuesday, November 5th at 11:00 am! It will take place at the UNM Health Sciences Campus at the corner of Yale NE and Tucker NE.

RSVP is required for the ceremony – please email Emily Morelli at eamorelli@salud.unm.edu to reserve your spot.
