If you’re 70 ½ or older, you qualify to make a gift through an IRA charitable rollover. You can donate up to $100,000 from your IRA directly to PMD Alliance without having to pay income taxes on the money. This means your gift can be used as your required minimum distribution under the law and can satisfy part or all of the requirement. The transfer produces neither taxable income nor a tax deduction, so you benefit even if you don’t itemize your deductions.
