”Living with PD has given me the opportunity to freely express my creative side, be it painting, dancing or acting and the Alliance has given the platform to share my artwork with fellow people living with Parkinson’s.
Inspire Me! Committee member Clara Kluge says having PD has been her silver lining in life, but PMD Alliance is her gold lining. For the second year in a row, Kluge helped PMD Alliance host the Inspire Me!™ Fair – a community art exhibit and fundraiser featuring artwork created by people whose lives have been impacted by movement disorders.
This year was unique because the event took place online with a virtual auction and in-person with a live event and silent auction in Santa Fe, NM. A live component allowed folks from all over the world to tune into the live event via Zoom! We were joined by an artist from Great Britain who joined in the wee hours of the morning to support the event!
Inspire Me!™ raised almost $9,000 for PMD Alliance programming which remains free but not without cost to the organization.
Most importantly, the event provided a platform for people impacted by movement disorders to share their creative outlets and their stories with the PMD Alliance community.
We were truly inspired by all the artwork that was donated, by all the conversations that were had, by the connections that were made between the artists and the winners, and by your support.
