Group meets monthly where PWP and care partners meet in two separate rooms for discussion after general announcements every other month. Alternate months have a guest speaker where the group meets as a whole. A speech pathologist meets with the PWP, and an occupational therapist meets with the care partners.
The MetroWest YMCA hosts a Parkinson’s Wellness Program for any member of the community with classes 6 days per week. This program is free and does not require membership. Classes include Pedal for Parkinson’s, PWR! Moves, Movement to Music, and Strength & Conditioning. We also host a monthly social with invited speakers covering topics like home care, nutrition, caregiver resources, research, etc. Caregivers welcome!

Brigham and Women’s Rehabilitation Services in Foxborough is providing in-clinic and/or telemedicine visits when clinically appropriate. We are able to conduct appointments via telephone, as well as via on-line video conferencing, to deliver the most appropriate care for the patient. We have state-of-the-art equipment and facilities, including a full weight training area, cardiovascular training equipment, computerized strength and balance testing equipment, a functional training area, and a therapeutic pool.
Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center’s Parkinson’s Foundation Center of Excellence hosts WellnessWorks. This dynamic wellness platform for the PD community offers Zoom-based exercise classes, including yoga, Rock Steady Boxing, Tai Chi, NIA Moving to Heal, and Care Partner Self-Care, for people with Parkinson’s and related disorders as well as care partners. The umbrella of WellnessWorks also includes free remote networking groups (for artists, women, people in the “middle years of their PD journey”, newly diagnosed folks, adult children of parents with PD, and young adults with PD), educational programs, support groups, and community wellness opportunities. The Aquidneck Island Support Group’s goal is to provide an opportunity for people living with Parkinson’s Disease to Share personal experiences, feelings, and coping strategies, to provide Educational opportunities related to the disease and to empower participants to take Action towards living well with Parkinson’s disease.
Individuals living with Parkinson’s Disease and their care partners are welcome to attend the support group monthly or as desired with no obligation for attendance. There is no fee associated with this group and parking is free.

True Self Speech Therapy is a speech, swallow and voice clinic specializing in neurological diagnoses. We a certified in Speak Out! and run a free weekly group specifically for Parkinson’s clients. We offer Vital Stim, expiratory muscle strength training and the McNeill Dysphagia Protocol for swallowing. We run other social groups twice a month focusing on activities to promote social communication opportunities to practice speech and voice.
