Our monthly meeting is Led by a certified facilitator, the group fosters open discussions where attendees can share experiences, receive encouragement, and connect with others facing similar challenges. Helpful tips, resources, and quarterly educational speakers offer valuable guidance and practical tools to improve quality of life. Each month, on the 1st Monday of the month at 2:00PM, the group welcomes new members, many of whom are newly diagnosed, creating a welcoming environment for both ongoing support and often the first steps of the Parkinson’s journey.
We meet the first Monday of the month at 2:00PM. 2027 dates: 1/12, 2/2, 3/2,4/6, 5/4, 6/1, 7/13(note date change due to holiday closing), 8/3, 9/7, 10/5, 11/2, 12/7
PARK & REC is an evidence-based weekday recreational therapy and exercise program
For individuals living with Parkinson’s Disease, this 10-week program addresses both motor and non-motor symptoms of PD, including mobility, posture, balance, strength, anxiety, depression, speech volume, etc. This program uniquely combines exercise and recreation-based modalities to combat PD symptoms, in which the participants have the autonomy to choose what series they are most interested in. This person-centered approach allows participants to select from a variety of therapeutic exercises and activities, such as, yoga, tai chi, adaptive sport, expressive therapies, art, dance, music/singing, outdoor cycling, passive/active games, and team building activities. This person-centered program is driven by the participants’ needs, interests, and goals truly putting the “fun” in functional. We offer this on Mondays at 3:00PM and the higher intensity “Boot Camp” version on Wednesdays at 3:00PM (This is an ongoing program)
