The Central Illinois Parkinson’s Support Group is open to all persons living in the middle of Illinois that have been diagnosed with Parkinson’s Disease. The Central Illinois Parkinson’s Support Group is an open support group with monthly meetings that provides Education, Support and Information to people living with Parkinson’s disease, their families and care givers. We also put on events such as a weekend retreat, baseball outing and “Walk this way for Parkinson’s”.
Rock Steady Boxing is an evidence-based, non-contact boxing program specifically designed to help people living with Parkinson’s disease. It is specifically designed to address Parkinson’s symptoms such as slow or small movements, imbalance, stiffness, flexed posture, and respiratory weakness.
Our indoor climbing gym partners with Up Ending Parkinson’s to empower people with Parkinson’s to move, connect, and rediscover what they are capable of through supportive, adaptive climbing and accessible movement opportunities during regular climbing sessions. Our trained volunteers, education, outreach, and research partnerships demonstrate the power of movement and community for people with Parkinson’s. No climbing experience is required.
