My husband, Kurt has been living with PD for 18 years. We have been facilitating the support group for 15 years. We bring our experiences and learnings to share with the group. Presenters are sometimes planned. Most of the time it’s “Open Forum” at the meetings. I will also lead a Care Partners group. Our group started out for those under 60 years old as my husband was 45 when diagnosed. Now that he’s over 60, we’ve opened the group to those older than 60. Because of our experience of Kurt being diagnosed at 45 yrs. we’ve dealt with him working full time and then needing to retire early along with having kids in middle and high school.
