Abi McGeary, LCSW, works with individuals living with Parkinson’s disease, including young-onset Parkinson’s (YOPD). Her experience in inpatient and outpatient neurology settings, along with her work with Young Onset Parkinson’s Network, informs a thoughtful, real-world approach to navigating the emotional and relational impact of PD. She partners with clients to build coping strategies, maintain identity, and move through changes with more clarity and steadiness. She accepts insurance and offers telehealth services.

We seek to inspire, share knowledge and build camaraderie. We also advocate for PWP in our community and connect with local health care systems and functional exercise programs.
We organize monthly gatherings, such as happy hours and men’s and women’s groups for coffee chats/brunches.

Bike Box Project provides support to over 100 people with Parkinson’s and their Care Partners. We meet the fourth Friday of the month at 10am. Monthly Care Partner meetings meet the fourth Monday of the month at 1pm. All support services is at no cost to the groups.
Bike Box Project offers many types of exercise programs including Rock Steady Boxing, in a new gym dedicated to people with Parkinson’s.

The Parkinson Association of the Carolinas (PAC) offers virtual support group meetings to connect individuals living with Parkinson’s Disease, care partners, and families. PAC’s virtual meetings are accessible from home, making it easier for participants to stay engaged and connected regardless of location. Facilitated by guest speakers, these sessions offer valuable resources and educational information related to Parkinson’s disease. PAC also offers additional resources, including awareness events, exercise programs, educational programs, and access to support services.
