Based on the award-winning Dance for PD® method, this interactive, research-backed class with expert teachers David Leventhal and Lucy Bowen is appropriate for anyone with PD, at all levels of ability and mobility. No dance experience is required. You’ll explore elements of modern dance, ballet, creative movement, jazz, and social dancing in a non-pressured, social environment in which music energizes, enriches and empowers. Boosting Education and Awareness Together for People with Parkinson’s Disease (BEATs-PD) is a free community dance, music, and singing program for people with Parkinson’s disease and related conditions in Baltimore City, created by Johns Hopkins with community partners, Dance & Bmore, and Dance for PD®. In August BEATs-PD will hold four weekly 75-minute classes followed by optional social time, PD education/Q&A, snacks, and drinks. No diagnosis or dance experience required. Care partners welcome (must register separately). Chair options available. Parking is across from the Y in Druid Hill.
