At Parkinson Mentors Arizona (PMAZ) our mission is to connect individuals with Parkinson’s disease through peer mentorship, so each person feels supported and empowered. Our mentors are advocates, good listeners, compassionate, informed on local resources, positive in their outlook, and able to speak from personal experience. Visit PMAZ.net to learn more about our mentors, request a mentor, learn about local Parkinson-specific events, and find local resources. You must live in Maricopa County in Arizona to participate in this mentorship program.
Join Ballet Arizona for a special Dance for Parkinson’s class with guest teacher David Leventhal. David leads classes for people living with Parkinson’s disease around the world and has trained more than 3,000 teaching artists in 30 countries in the Dance for PD method, which he helped develop from the program’s inception in 2001.
“You’re too young to have Parkinson’s!”
Loneliness, misunderstanding, and invisibility are all too common in the experience of living with Young Onset Parkinson’s Disease (YOPD), but we can change that. Join the conversation to build the connections, community, and resources to live better with YOPD.
