The Lifestyle and Parkinson’s Disease Longitudinal Study (LPLS), located at Concordia University Irvine, explores how lifestyle choices (modifiable risk factors), such as diet and exercise, influence Parkinson’s Disease (PD) severity and progression.
Participants receive a personalized health report summarizing their data after completing our annual assessments (single 3-4 hour visit offered annually).
Researchers are typically pre-med and pre-professional students whose exposure to neurological and movement disorders is foundational in shaping their future interests.

The Santa Cruz County Parkinson’s Group, in existence for more than 35 years, and, now, EASE PD (Exercise, Activities, Support, Education for PD), our more recently established non-profit organization, provide many activities and services, among them a monthly newsletter (Movers & Shakers), monthly educational meetings (usually attended by 40-60 people, singing and Taiko drumming groups, rock climbing, pickleball, table tennis, and small support groups for PwP and care partners.
