Exercise for a stronger body, education and resources for a stronger mind, camaraderie and support for a stronger spirit. The PEWC has over 40 classes each week, support groups, individual wellness sessions, educational events, and much more!

Improv for Parkinson’s, offered by Improv for Work and Wellness, is designed to introduce people with Parkinson’s Disease and care partners to the foundations of improvisational theatre (improv) and apply improv skills to life with PD.

It is known that exercise slows the progression of PD, and so, we exercise the brain by using improvisational theatre to support cognitive health. Through games, exercises, and discussions, our program targets word search, working memory, creativity, and emphasizing facial and other physical expression, and explores themes such as acceptance, presence, celebrating mistakes, and co-creation.

We offer Level 1 and Level 2. Both programs are six weeks long and meet virtually on Zoom.

Boxing For Balance is a leading Parkinson’s boxing and movement resource serving Los Angeles County and Ventura County through a network of Rock Steady Boxing affiliated programs, local class locations, and virtual Parkinson’s exercise resources.

Our mission is to help individuals with Parkinson’s disease improve balance, coordination, mobility, strength, confidence, and quality of life through evidence-based boxing-inspired exercise and functional movement training designed specifically for neurological conditions.

Boxing For Balance supports Parkinson’s exercise programs and Rock Steady Boxing affiliated classes in Santa Monica, Lake Balboa, Woodland Hills, and Thousand Oaks, while also serving surrounding communities including Westlake Village, Agoura Hills, Calabasas, Simi Valley, Camarillo, Ventura, Encino, Tarzana, Northridge, Van Nuys, Sherman Oaks, Studio City, Beverly Hills, Pacific Palisades, Brentwood, Culver City, Malibu, and surrounding Southern California areas.

In 2023, Community & Home Independence Partners began as a mobile outpatient private practice, delivering OT services in home and community settings where patients experience the most difficulties. We believe that occupational therapy is an under-utilized service which can be critical in supporting people with neurological conditions to slow progression, manage symptoms, and maximize independence to improve quality of life. At Community & Home Independence Partners, we focus on home safety, community engagement, and improving quality of life and opportunities for daily engagement via skill development, use of tools, and modifications to environment and task. Our services, including LSVT-BIG, are covered by Medicare, and we are able to bill as an out-of-network provider for most insurances. Owner, Jillian Bucolo, is certified in LSVT-BIG, has earned an Execeutive Certificate in Home Modification (ECHM), and has extensive experience working with people in their living environment to maximize safety.
